At OSDI 2020, Byung-Gon received an ACM SIGOPS Hall of Fame Award with TaintDroid! From the SIGOPS web page, “The SIGOPS Hall of Fame Award was instituted in 2005 to recognize the most influential Operating Systems papers that were published at least ten years in the past.” The TaintDroid work he did with wonderful colleagues, which appeared at OSDI 2010, is the first work that implements monitoring private information on smartphones and analyzes that mobile apps often misuse private information. The paper’s cited more than 3800 times according to Google Scholar.
